John Moran was called to war--Beaver Creek Ancestor

John Moran was called to war, at that time they had two children: Mahala and William.

Mary did not hear from him for several months.

Sometimes battles were fought around Mary's house and as soon as the battle was over Mary would go among the dead to see if any of the men were John.

After long months of waiting, she heard that John had been very ill. He had contacted measles and had to travel through the rain, causing him to take pneumonia.

When he came home he had a nervous condition.
