Hark, I shall tell thee of the mysteries of hair, And why women's grows slower, yet falls out less rare.
'Tis estrogen, the female hormone so grand, That bids the hair follicles grow and expand.
Men, on the other hand, have testosterone, Which can lead to hair loss, as we have known.
Other factors play a role, 'tis true, Like the number of follicles, and how they respond to hormones anew.
Women have more follicles, and their hair is more sensitive, Which means their hair can grow longer, and is less likely to be fugitive.
But heed my words, my dear, for variation is rife, Some women's hair grows faster, some men's hair grows with strife.
So embrace thy hair, whatever its pace, For it is a gift, to adorn thy face.
(In the style of Shakespeare)
