  • Mrs. Sadie Vance died in Clifton Forge, VA. She was 89 years old. She was a lifelong resident of Alleghany County. She was survived by 3 children and a large circle of friends.
  • Mrs. Ella Wallace died in Warm Springs, VA. She was buried in Spring season. The funeral services were at the Presbyterian Church. Wallace was 57 years old.
  • L. Frank Wade died at his home in Lewisburg, WV. He was 58. He was survived by his wife and 6 children.
  • Winford L. Trayer, formerly of Bath County, died at age 58. He was living in Augusta County at the time of his death. He was survived by his wife and 6 children.
  • Dr. Reid White, formerly of Warm Springs, VA died at the age of 33. He was survived by his wife and one daughter.
  • John L. Williams died in Arbovale at age 80. He was the son of a prominent Methodist minister. He was survived by one son.
  • Charles F. Revercomb celebrated his 89th birthday with relatives and friends. Revercomb, a veteran of the Civil War, was a resident of Marlinton.
  • Robert Rust died suddenly in Bath County. He was 55 years old. He was a well-known businessman and farmer. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
  • Mrs. George W. Rose died in Covington, VA. Funeral services were held at the home of her nephew, Noah Rose. Rose had moved to Covington two years ago from New England.
  • Fairfax, VA resident Timothy Alderman was taken from his home and shot. The sources do not give the date of this event, but note that Alderman's body was not found for three weeks. This event occurred near the bridge at Minnehaha Springs.
