Interdimensional Traveler

Interdimensional Traveler: "Greetings from Dimension X-12! I have crash-landed in your fishbowl. 

Can you assist me in returning home, or perhaps offer some algae snacks in the meantime?"

(Startled gasp as you stare at your goldfish, Bubbles, who is now radiating a soft, otherworldly glow and speaking in a deep, booming voice.)

You:  B-Bubbles? Is that really you?  And... another dimension?

Bubbles: (In a booming but somehow friendly voice) Indeed it is, my dear companion! A malfunction in my interdimensional travel device crash-landed me in your rather cozy, though slightly cramped, aquatic vessel.

You:  Whoa. Okay, well, that explains the strange light coming from the fishbowl lately.  But how do we get you back to Dimension X-12?  Sounds fancy.

Bubbles:  (Voice lowers slightly)  It is quite advanced, I assure you.  However, repairs require a rare interdimensional algae not readily available in this... goldfish cracker-infested environment.

You:  (Snorts)  Goldfish crackers?  Those are flakes, Bubbles.  But algae, huh?  Maybe I can find some at the pet store? Deep-sea kind?

Bubbles:  Intriguing!  Anything from Dimension X-Zarg will likely suffice.  Just a nibble, mind you, for my power core is quite small.

You:  Dimension X-Zarg?  This just keeps getting weirder.  Alright, Bubbles, hold on.  Operation: Deep-Sea Snack Retrieval is a go!

(You scramble to the pet store, returning with a suspicious-looking bag of "Deep Ocean Delight Algae Flakes." Bubbles eyes them cautiously.)

Bubbles:  Hmm, the packaging is rather... garish.  But desperate times call for desperate measures.  Very well, let's see if this X-Zarg algae lives up to its reputation.

(Bubbles takes a tentative nibble of the algae. A small spark jumps from his glowing scales.)

Bubbles:  Fascinating!  An... interesting flavor profile, but the interdimensional properties seem intact.  With a few more nibbles, I should be able to recalibrate my device.

(Over the next few days, you feed Bubbles the strange algae flakes. With each bite, his glow intensifies. Finally, with a triumphant gurgle, Bubbles announces he's ready.)

Bubbles:  Thank you, my friend!  Your assistance has been invaluable.  Now, prepare for a light show!

(A blinding flash fills the room as Bubbles activates his device. When the light fades, the fishbowl is empty.)

You:  Bubbles?  Where are you?

(A shimmering portal opens above the tank. Bubbles peeks out, his voice returning to normal.)

Bubbles:  Farewell, dear friend!  May your fishbowl forever be filled with delicious flakes (though perhaps a slightly less flamboyant variety).  Until next time!

(Bubbles winks and dives back through the portal, which snaps shut. You stare at the empty bowl, a strange mix of sadness and wonder washing over you.)

You:  Well, that was... something.  Guess it's back to regular fish food from now on.

(You shrug and head to the cupboard, a small smile playing on your lips.  Life with Bubbles, even a goldfish from another dimension, was never dull.)
