William Shakespeare's Opinion

the bard of avolon. Image 2 of 4

A pox upon this penny-pinching age,
Where knowledge takes a blow for budget's sake!
They've cast aside the man of science rare,
Whose wisdom filled the halls with wondrous air.

No more shall beakers bubble, flames shall cease,
No dissection's art to pique the mind's release.
The heavens' secrets, once unveiled and bright,
Now shrouded lie in academic night.

Alas, the stars, the planets, and the earth,
No longer tempt the curious soul's rebirth.
The mysteries of life, its grand design,
Left unexplored, a knowledge left to pine.

And what of those who seek a future fair,
Where science's light might guide them with its care?
Their path now dimmed, their aspirations fall,
For knowledge pruned stands weakest of them all.

Oh, cursed be the purse that holds such sway,
That cuts the very branch where wisdom lay.
May ignorance then reign in its dark stead,
Where reason's flame is quenched, and wonder dead.
