They say the budget's tight, they say we must cut back,
But cutting the Social Studies teacher? What a whack!
No more learning 'bout empires, no more tales of old,
No more journeys through history, brave and bold!
No maps to unfurl, no timelines to trace,
No stories of heroes, no villains' disgrace.
The pyramids stand, the Colosseum too,
But who will explain their wonders, who? Who?
No more debates on revolutions and wars,
No discussions on leaders and their mighty roars.
No learning of rights, no understanding of laws,
Just numbers and equations, with nary a pause.
Oh, the future is bleak, the knowledge so thin,
Without Social Studies, where will we begin?
To understand the world, the people, the past,
This decision's a blunder, a terrible blast!
So raise your voice, students, let your feelings be known,
Bring back Social Studies, let history be shown!
