Sue Speaks Out

 

The school board, quite shortsighted, you see,
Said, "Calculus? Not for all, surely!"
Kids scoffed, "Just a trade,
Then minimum wage paid?
Forget dreams of a future so surely!"

A history buff named Louise, with a frown,
Cried, "Cutting electives? We'll drown
In a future so bleak,
With no Shakespeare to speak,
And no knowledge of empires gone down!"

With budgets stretched thin, came a plan so absurd,
The board said, "No more advanced word!"
Students all sighed,
"Our potential denied!
Is this how our futures are stirred?"
