 Why is there a West Virginia if there is No East Virginia?

      1.  There isn't a"East" Virginia because there was only one war. 

The western region decided to  break away from the rest of the state.(RN)

  3. When West Virginia decided to become its own state, it took the area to the west of main Virginia and added "West" to its name. Since Virginia was the original state, it kept its original name instead of becoming East Virginia. (NA)
