Huntersville Traditions Days is an annual festival held in Huntersville, West Virginia, the original county seat of Pocahontas County. The festival is held the first full weekend in October and celebrates the traditions of our ancestors and the history of Huntersville.
The festival features a variety of activities, including:
- Walking tours and horse-drawn carriage rides of the town
- Civil War reenactments at the Huntersville Confederate Cemetery
- Apple butter stirring at School House Lane
- Muzzle loading demonstrations at the Huntersville Revolutionary War Cemetery
- Quilting demonstrations at the Huntersville Community Center
- Live music and dancing
- Local food and craft vendors
The festival is a great opportunity to learn about the history and culture of Huntersville and Pocahontas County. It is also a fun event for the whole family, with activities for all ages.
In addition to the regular activities, Huntersville Traditions Days also features a special event each year. For example, in 2022, the festival celebrated the Pocahontas County Bicentennial with a birthday cake, hunter's feast, and other demonstrations and tours.
Huntersville Traditions Days is a free event and is open to the public. For more information, please visit the Huntersville Historical Traditions website or Facebook page.
