It was built in 1850 and is the oldest church in the Knapps Creek community. The church was built by Andrew W. Moore, Moses Moore, and Preston Moore, who donated the land and the majority of the funds for its construction.
The church is a simple, one-story structure with a gable roof. The exterior is made of white clapboard, and the interior is finished with wood paneling. The church has a seating capacity of about 100 people.
