A Poem: Pocahontas County, West Virginia

O, Pocahontas County, fairest of the land, Where mountains rise and valleys spread, Where rivers flow and forests stand, A land of beauty, wild and free.

The Greenbrier River flows through your heart, A winding ribbon of blue, Where whitewater rapids rush and start, And fish dart through the clear, cool pool.

The mountains rise like giants tall, Their peaks capped with snow and ice, Where eagles soar and hawks do call, And deer and bear roam free.

The forests spread like green and gold, Their leaves a carpet in the fall, Where wildflowers bloom and birds do hold Their songs of joy for all to hear.

O, Pocahontas County, fairest of the land, You are a treasure, rare and true, A place to love, a place to stand, A place to call home, for me and you.
