From Our Old News Desk--The Frost team won the game.

 


A football game was played between teams from Frost and Green Hill. The game was played at G. B. Ryder's, on Back Creek.

  • The Frost team won the game.
  • The game was "hard fought".
  • Both teams gave their best effort and played in a friendly way.
  • The captains tossed to choose to defend the west goal for the first half.
  • Frost lined up with two substitutes, boys aged 14 years old or less.
  • The game was called and the ball was put in play by R. Wade.
  • The ball was carried in Green Hill territory.
  • Shinnaberry scored a goal for Frost.
  • The ball was put into play again.
  • The ball was carried in Green Hill territory a second time.
  • The ball was passed by both sides in a splendid play done by the players and was caught by C.C. Sharp, the goalkeeper.
  • In the second half, the play was quick and fast, but no points were scored.
  • The Frost team said that it was the "finest game they ever played".
  • The Green Hill team was thanked for their kindness and courtesies.

Another football game between the Oak Grove and Frost teams took place on March 6th. It was noted that the Oak Grove team won that game. The football game between the Oak Grove and Frost teams was said to be hotly contested. The game was also described as having a crowd of people watching, including ladies. The game was also noted to have been carried down to Oak Grove's goal line, where a skirmish ensued which resulted in a first goal for Frost. There was a second football game between Frost and Oak Grove that was played at Frost on a Saturday, with Frost winning. The Frost team was then described as having a claim to the championship.
