William Pierce (1933–2002)

 William Pierce (1933–2002) was a white supremacist, neo-Nazi, and author who established his headquarters at a rural compound near Hillsboro, Pocahontas County, in 1984. 

He is best known as the author of the novel The Turner Diaries, a fictional account of a white supremacist revolution in the United States. The novel was praised by white supremacist groups and inspired the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995. Pierce died in 2002 at his compound.
