According to the Vietnam War Casualties database, there were 10 military personnel from Pocahontas County, West Virginia who were killed in action during the Vietnam War. They were:

               Clarence E. Bartley, Sp4, died on July 29, 1967.
               Foster E. Booth, SFC, died on August 24, 1968.
               Luster C. Friel, PFC, died on April 15, 1966.
               Jack L. Rexrode, SP4, died on March 19, 1969.
               Samuel D. Rider Jr., SGT, died on March 3, 1968.
               Lee Roy D. Sprouse, CPL, died on June 25, 1968.
               Watson Underwood Jr., SGT, died on April 2, 1968.
               Jake H. Van Meter Jr., SSGT, died on October 7, 1967.
               John R. Williams, SGT, died on November 29, 1968.
